• A 4-week in-person deep dive into this ancient teacher — its lore, wisdom, and modern, mindful practice.

We will meet on zoom, starting on October / November 2026

On this course you will receive expert guidance on how to forage, prepare, microdose and journey with Amanita Muscaria

  • Red-capped, white-spotted, and impossibly iconic, Amanita muscaria has walked beside humanity for millennia. It is a symbol of winter stories and forest rites; a mirror for the psyche; a threshold mushroom that invites humility, listening, and care. Where many may see taboo, others—quietly, respectfully—meet a profound teacher.

Fly agaric has a long history of use in religious ceremonies, particularly in Asia. For over 4,000 years it was the ingredient in a sacred and hallucinogenic ritual drink called 'soma' in India and Iran; while the Siberian shamans would give it out as a gift in late December.

  • Known for its healing properties this iconic, taboo mushroom has been aiding humanity for thousands of years to help prepare for and get through the winter months with greater ease. It was also traditionally used at higher doses for various spiritual reasons

  • This season, ENCHANTED is honoured to host Meeting the Spirit of Amanita Muscaria—a 4-week online journey (via Zoom) guided by Agnieszka Laskus

We’ll explore Amanita through multiple lenses:

    • Myth & history
    • Ecology & foraging ethics
    • Pharmacology & safety
    • Ceremony & integration

Our aim is not to sensationalise, but to learn, ground, and remember—with respect for the land, the lineages, and our own nervous systems.
    • To replace internet noise about Amanita with clear, contextual education.

    • To cultivate right relationship with this sacred mushroom —ethics, ecology, reciprocity.

    • To learn safe, modern frameworks for reflection, ritual, and integration.

    • To support those curious about micro-practices and contemplative work with careful guidance and community.
  • Week 1 — Introduction, History & Life Cycle (90 min)

Foundations and fascination. We trace Amanita’s presence across geographies of the North, its mycorrhizal partnership with birch/pine, seasonal rhythms, and folklore—Siberian shamanic traditions, winter tales and symbols (yes, the Santa stories), and the challenge of cultivation (why this is a forest ally, not a farmed crop). We also touch early research into potential soothing, sleep-supportive properties associated with muscimol—always with caution and context.

  • Week 2 — Pharmacology, Ethics, Foraging & Preparation (90 min)

We dive into what science currently says about muscimol and ibotenic acid, how drying/processing can change the profile, and why contraindications matter (medications, conditions, and when to not proceed). We cover ethical foraging (permissions, seasonal timing, minimal impact, gratitude practices), practical handling (cleaning, drying, storage), and pathways for non-ingestive use (craft, study, devotional art) for those who prefer a purely educational/ritual approach.

  • Week 3 — Brewing Together, Guided Meditation & Mini-Ceremony (2 hours)

A longer, experiential session that centres somatic safety and heart-led intention. We’ll create a shared ceremonial container, practise gentle breath and body awareness, and—where appropriate and lawful—demonstrate traditional brewing workflows at an educational level (no individualised dosing will be provided in class). Expect guided meditation, quiet journaling, and a strong emphasis on listening—to body, breath, and the forest wisdom Amanita evokes.

  • Week 4 — Integration, Micro-Practices & Next Steps (90 min)

We harvest our shared insights. We discuss integration frameworks, micro-rituals for reflection days, sleep hygiene, nature time, and creative expression. We also revisit safety and contraindications, offer resource lists (reading, research, community), and suggest next steps for those who feel called to continue learning in a slow, ethical, and well-supported way.

    • 4 live classes with Q&A, replays available for the cohort window.

    • Integration prompts and journaling pages for each week.

    • A curated resource list (books, field guides, research, harm-reduction organisations).

    • A supportive community field held by Agnieszka and the ENCHANTED team.
    • Forest lovers, foragers, and myth-curious humans seeking context over hype.

    • Practitioners interested in contemplative or ceremonial frameworks grounded in safety and respect.

    • Anyone exploring micro-practices or curiosity about traditional uses who wants clear guardrails and best-practice integration.
  • This course is educational. We do not provide medical advice, prescriptions, or personalised dosing. Laws vary by region; participants are responsible for knowing and complying with local regulations. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, managing medical/psychiatric conditions, or taking medication, consult a qualified clinician and consider attending in a learning-only capacity. Above all, we honour consent, pacing, and choice—you are always free to observe, journal, and integrate without ingesting anything.

  • If you feel called to meet Amanita with wonder, humility, and care, we’d love to welcome you. Step into winter with context, companionship, and ceremony—and discover why so many traditions have looked to this ancient ally for guidance when the light grows thin.
