• Welcome to Your UPLIFT Manual & Terrain Guide

  • UPLIFT is a gentle, non-psychedelic formulation crafted to support mood clarity, emotional resilience, and nervous-system balance. UPLIFT works through regulatory pathways, helping shift internal tone gradually rather than inducing forceful states.

This guide is designed as a map of the UPLIFT territory — helping you understand ingredients, what you may experience, how to navigate common obstacles, and how to combine (or not combine) UPLIFT with other substances and routines.

  • The Ingredients & Their Roles

  • Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum)

Kanna contains unique alkaloids (e.g., mesembrine, mesembrenone) that act as serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SRIs) and PDE4 modulators. This supports serotonin availability and cognitive clarity. Many people find Kanna gently activating and mood-brightening without intoxication.

  • Saffron (Crocus Sativus)

Saffron’s active compounds help support balanced serotonin and dopamine signalling and provide antioxidant and neuroprotective support. In UPLIFT, it helps smooth emotional shifts and promote calm, steady mental energy.

  • Pink Lotus (Nelumbo Nucifera)

Containing alkaloids like nuciferine and neferine, Pink Lotus supports emotional openness and nervous-system relaxation. It contributes a subtle, heart-opening quality.

  • Orange Oil (Citrus Sinensis)

Rich in d-limonene, orange oil helps ease stress signalling and support an uplifted, positive baseline mood.

  • Monatomic Copper

A refined non-metallic form of copper believed to assist cellular energy flow and support coherence and energetic integration across the formulation.

  • Getting Started

  • UPLIFT is designed to be approachable and subtle. Because it may be new to your system, begin with a lower amount and let your body respond.

    • Many people start with half a serving or less.

    • For best absorption, take UPLIFT on an empty stomach, ideally 1 hour before food or 2 hours after.

    • Because of its mildly stimulating effects, UPLIFT is generally best taken earlier in the day.

Resist the urge to increase too quickly — experience tends to deepen with consistency and patience.

  • What You May Notice

  • UPLIFT is not about intensity — it’s about subtle, cumulative shift. You may notice:

    • A sense of calm clarity rather than dramatic sensations
    • Warmth or internal sensation as your system adjusts
    • Emotional ease or increased presence over time

Many people find that tracking mood, journaling, or simply noticing shifts over days helps reveal these subtler effects.

  • Finding the Right Rhythm

  • We recommend a 5-day-on, 2-day-off rhythm to support nervous-system integration. You may also find other intermittent patterns that suit your system — the core principle is to include regular breaks.

  • Navigation Challenges & How to Address Them

  • Everyone’s journey with UPLIFT is unique. Below are common responses and how to navigate them.

Common Responses & How to Navigate Them

Feeling Tired or Heavy

As serotonergic signalling increases and stress hormones down-regulate, the nervous system may shift out of chronic activation. This can initially feel like tiredness.
Navigation: Reduce dose, take earlier, allow adjustment time.

Increased Anxiety or Restlessness

Early serotonergic and PDE4 modulation can increase internal awareness before stabilisation, which may feel activating or anxious in sensitive systems.
Navigation: Lower dose, avoid caffeine, pause if needed.

Emotional Surfacing

Kanna can increase emotional signal clarity, allowing underlying feelings to surface before smoothing occurs.
Navigation: Reflect gently, lower the amount, or take a break.

Overstimulation / “Busy Mind”

Above an individual’s sweet spot, cognitive and serotonergic activation may feel tense or scattered.
Navigation: Less is more — reduce dose or add rest days.

Mild Gastrointestinal Responses

Serotonin also influences gut motility, which can cause mild nausea or bowel changes.
Navigation:
Reduce dose or take with a light snack.

Feeling “Nothing at All”

UPLIFT supports gradual regulation rather than acute effects, so benefits may show as subtle ease over time.
Navigation:
Observe over days rather than chasing sensation.

Do I Need to Take Breaks?

UPLIFT does not operate like classic serotonergic psychedelics such as psilocybin, which require clearly defined cycles and extended breaks due to receptor down-regulation. Instead, UPLIFT’s gentle regulatory action is more akin to adaptogenic modulation. That said, short breaks help maintain sensitivity and integration.

What If I Take Too Much?

Larger amounts do not reliably enhance the experience. At higher amounts, some people may notice:

  • Restlessness or overstimulation
  • Faster or noticeable heartbeat
  • Warmth, flushing, tingling
  • Tension or “wired” feeling
  • Mild nausea or emotional flattening

These effects are usually temporary. If uncomfortable, pause use, hydrate, rest, and engage in calming practices. Do not drive until you feel fully settled.

Can I Drive When Taking UPLIFT?

UPLIFT is designed to support clarity and daily functioning. However, individual sensitivity varies. Do not drive or operate machinery until you understand how UPLIFT affects you, particularly early in your experience.

  • Combining UPLIFT with Other Substances

  • Avoid combining UPLIFT with other mood-focused or serotonergic products on the same day. While risks at microdose levels are generally low, overlapping biochemical pathways can create unnecessary load and reduce clarity and comfort.

Collapsible content

SSRIs / SNRIs / MAOIs (IMPORTANT)

Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), serotonin–norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) all directly affect serotonin availability or metabolism. Kanna also increases serotonin availability via reuptake inhibition. Combining these can significantly increase serotonergic load and may lead to overstimulation, agitation, anxiety, or adverse reactions.

Guidance:
Do not combine UPLIFT with SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs, or other prescription
antidepressants unless under medical supervision.

Tramadol & Strongly Serotonergic Medications

Tramadol and some other medications influence serotonin signalling alongside their primary effects. When combined with Kanna, this overlap can be unpredictable and uncomfortable.

Guidance:
Avoid combining UPLIFT with tramadol or other strongly serotonergic medications.

Collapsible content

Caffeine

Caffeine increases sympathetic
nervous-system activation and adrenaline signalling. Combined with Kanna, this
can amplify restlessness, jitteriness, or anxiety, especially in sensitive
individuals.

Guidance: Reduce or avoid caffeine when using UPLIFT.

Alcohol

Alcohol depresses nervous-system activity primarily through GABA modulation. When combined with Kanna, it may dull mood clarity or increase drowsiness and emotional flattening.

Guidance:
Best avoided, or kept minimal and well separated in time.

Cannabis

Cannabis enhances sensory and emotional signalling through the endocannabinoid system. Alongside Kanna, this can intensify emotional sensitivity, introspection, or anxiety in some people.

Guidance:
Avoid combining, particularly if prone to emotional overwhelm or anxiety.

Niacin (flushing)

Flushing niacin causes vasodilation and increased circulation. When combined with Kanna, sensations of warmth, tingling, or flushing may feel more pronounced due to heightened sensory awareness.

Guidance: Space niacin and UPLIFT by several hours and start with low amounts.

St John’s Wort / 5-HTP / Serotonin-Boosting Supplements

These supplements increase serotonin synthesis or availability. Combined with Kanna, they can create unnecessary serotonergic overlap.

Guidance:
Avoid stacking UPLIFT with St John’s Wort, 5-HTP, or similar serotonin-boosting
supplements.

MDMA / Empathogens

MDMA and related empathogens cause large, acute releases of serotonin. Combining or closely spacing these with Kanna can strain serotonergic systems and impair recovery.

Guidance: Do not combine. Allow generous spacing before and after empathogenic use.

Stimulants (other than caffeine)

Prescription or recreational stimulants (e.g. amphetamines, ADHD medications, cocaine) increase sympathetic activation and dopamine signalling. Combined with Kanna, this may heighten restlessness, anxiety, or cardiovascular strain.

Guidance: Avoid combining or ensure significant spacing and professional
guidance.

  • * Always listen to your body and pause use if anything feels off.

  • ⚠️ Gateway Conditions — Important

  • Do NOT use UPLIFT if you are:

    • Taking SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs, tramadol, or other serotonin-modulating medications
    • Pregnant or breastfeeding
    • Diagnosed with a serious psychiatric condition unless under professional guidance
    • Actively combining with other serotonergic microdosing protocols without adequate spacing

    Use with caution if you:

    • Are sensitive to serotonergic substances
    • Have low blood pressure
    • Combine with calming herbs or alcohol
    • Are on a regular Amanita protocol

If in doubt, consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.
